Upcycling Furniture Workshops

Upcycling is a wonderful way of updating your tired old pieces of furniture and at Upside Design that is exactly what we teach you how to do!  From top tips on were to source your furniture to what to look out for when upcycling to painted finishes and styles. 

 

If you fancy learning how to Upcycle your furniture, have fun and learn a lifelong skill then sign up for our Full Day €120  Half Day €75 or Open Studio €75  Ucycling Furniture Workshops.   The basic principles of working with paint and waxes are taught, as well as how to integrate these techniques into furniture decorating. You do not need to be artistic or creative to take part in the workshops and create beautiful furniture.

It's amazing how easy it is to transform your old tired furniture ! 

 

You will learn how to achieve the look of old French & Swedish painted furniture and contemporary finishes. The techniques learnt are colour recipes, distressed paint using one & two colours, wash effect, vintage effect, decoupage and stunning decorative gilding.

ANNIE SLOAN created this wonderful Chalk Paint™ suited for wood and furniture, which gives a beautiful texture. You don't need to prime or prepare as the chalk makes it thick, so it goes straight on and is a pleasure to work with

 

Half day workshop from 10am - 1.30pm €75

 

This workshop will provide a practical introduction to the use of wonderful Chalk Paint™. Classes will demonstrate the paints and how to use them, including basic painting, distressing and decoupage & finishing techniques.   Includes Cake & Coffee from the wonderful Country Bake- Best Cakes in the World

Full day workshop from 10am - 4.30pm €120

Learn all the techniques in the morning and put the skills you have learnt to good use in the afternoon by painting your own piece in the studio and combining Open Studio in one day!   Includes lunch, cake & coffee from Country Bake !

 

 

Open Studio 10 - 4 pm €75 

 

Come and use the studio for your own project!

 

The studio is open to you and you can work with any of the fantastic Chalk Paints and all our brushes and tools are available to you.   We guide you through your project, help you choose colour, design and you can make a mess here instead of at home!
