Half Day Upcycling Furniture Workshop

​This workshop will provide a practical introduction to the use of wonderful Chalk Paint™. Classes will demonstrate all the wonderful paint techniques including colour recipes, waxing, decoupage, distressing and finishing techniques.

Learn all the techniques in the morning and put the skills you have learnt to good use in the afternoon by painting your own piece in the studio and combining Open Studio in one day! Includes light lunch & cake from Country Bake !

 

Open Studio    Paint your own piece of furniture in our Studio €75

Come and use the studio for your own project!  Bring along your own piece of furniture and paint it under our tuition & guidance.  We supply all materials including the fantastic Chalk Paints, brushes and tools.

Upside Design Venue lies just 30 minutes from Dublin City Centre at 20 Railway Road in the heart of beautiful Dalkey. Surrounded by a breathtaking coastline, the town is packed with charming shops, fabulous restaurants and friendly pubs.

 

Upside Design specialises in Upcycling Furniture and we teach people how to do it.   Upside Design offers a wide range of workshops from beginner level to advanced – from Upcycling Furniture Workshops were all the techniques and effects using Chalk Paint™ decorative paint by Annie Sloan® to Upholstery and even DIY for Girls!

 

We opened the new studio to the rear of the shop in Dalkey where we hold all our workshops and classes. We can now cater for much larger groups and even private parties, even Hen Parties! - glass of wine in one hand - paint brush in the other ! Scary but good at the same time!

 

We are expanding are range of workshops and have our first upholstery workshop starting in December. We will also be running DIY for Girls workshops in January, drills at the ready! The plan is to turn the studio into a Craft & Interiors School ! I do not know if you have seen the recent show on Channel 4 - Kirsties Fill your house for Free and Kirsties Homemade Home but that is exactly what we will teach people to do! And great as an alternative Christmas present as we do gift vouchers too.

 

We hold Open Studio events were people can use the studio to Paint there own furniture , although it's not a class we are there to guide people and they can make a mess in the safety of our studio! It's great fun and it's like playschool for adults!
